This year, specialists from ITMO's Modeling and Design of Nanostructures Laboratory published several articles on nanocrystal chirality in such renowned science journals as Optics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics and Scientific Reports.

Researchers from Aston University and the Department of Optical Physics and Modern Natural Science at ITMO University have demonstrated a new method to fabricate optical microresonators with unprecedented precision.

Physicists, chemists, biologists, and chemical engineers discussed colloidal quantum dots at the “PCNSPA Conference 2016 - Photonic Colloidal Nanostructures: Synthesis, Properties, and Applications”, organized by the International Research and Education Center for Physics of Nanostructures of ITMO University together with the Fund for Laser Physics, in St. Petersburg on June 27 - July 1, 2016.

Students and young researchers of the OPMNS Department presented their research at the International Symposium “Fundamentals of Laser Assisted Micro– and Nanotechnologies” (FLAMN).

Scientists from ITMO University and Trinity College have designed an optically active nanosized supercrystal whose novel architecture can help separate organic molecules, thus considerably facilitating the technology of drug synthesis.

The Masters Program "Optics of nanostructures" of the OPMNS Department was awarded the EUR-ACE® Label.

A team of scientists from ITMO University and Trinity College Dublin published the first experimental results showing that ordinary nanocrystals possess intrinsic chirality and can be produced under normal conditions as a half-and-half mixture of mirror images of each other.

The 8th International Congress of Optical Science "Optics -XXI Century" took place in Saint Petersburg on 20-24 October 2014.
